A little help

Somnopsis support.

Find your way around your sleep history.

Where does my sleep data come from?

Somnopsis reads existing sleep-analysis records from Apple Health. It does not record sleep itself. An Apple Watch or another compatible source can save sleep records to Health.

Why is my history empty?

Check that Apple Health has sleep records and that Somnopsis has permission to read Sleep. After new records sync, open Somnopsis again or pull down on the history to refresh. Health permissions can be changed from your device’s Health settings.

I just woke up. Why isn’t last night showing yet?

Last night’s sleep can take a little while to reach Apple Health, and Somnopsis shows it as Pending until it does. Opening the Health app usually prompts it to catch up. Once you see last night in Health, come back to Somnopsis and it will be there too.

Why are some sleep stages missing?

The details depend on your data source. Some sources save only time asleep. Deep, Core, REM, and Awake views require those stage records in Apple Health.

How do I explore a night?

Tap a night to see its totals and timeline. Swipe the top of the page sideways to move between nights. Drag the timeline to scroll through the night and the nights around it, and tap another night to show it. Pinch up and down to zoom in or out, or sideways to widen the other nights. Tap a stage to see when it started and ended.

What can I change in the menu?

On the history screen, choose Totals, Sequence, or Both, choose which days of the week to show, and show or hide sleep stages. In the details page, the menu also lets you choose the averaging period.

How do comparisons work?

Each night is compared with earlier nights that have data in the selected period: 7 days, 30 days, 1 year, or all available history. Comparison averages include every day of the week, even if your history is showing only some.

Does Somnopsis change my Health records?

The released app only reads your sleep records. It does not add, edit, or delete records in Apple Health.

Which devices are supported?

Somnopsis supports iPhone and iPad with iOS or iPadOS 17 or later. Sleep records and permissions must be available on the device.
